We watched an amazing video on coral reefs and had our first Mystery Reader- Mrs. Thomason. She read an African tale, Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears. Have a great weekend!

Answers from our friends in Australia!

Yesterday we had our questions answered by Miss McGeady's class in Australia.
Here is what they said, (their answers are in bold.)

What great questions. We hope you have fun learning about Australia!

Isabella wants to know, "What is a favorite Australian meal?"
Some Australian foods are lamingtons, meat pies and Vegemite. You can read about some Australian foods in Mrs Yollis’ copy of Possum Magic.

Alyssa is curious about, "Which ocean is Sydney located on?"
Kobi says it is the Pacific Ocean.

Sasha wonders, "What games do they play in Australia?"
Bianca says chasey, netball, AFL (Australian Rules football) and cricket.

Jordyn asks, "What do Australians like to do for fun?"
Lachlan says Star Wars. Charlotte says craft. Maddison says she likes to play with her friends.

Dylan wants to know, "What is the weather like? Is it hot there or cold?"
Some places in Australia are hot and some are cold. Where we live in Leopold, Victoria it is hot in summer and cold in winter. At the moment it is autumn and the weather is about 20 degrees Celsius.

Kyla wonders "What is their favorite ocean?"
We are not sure but one of our most popular beaches is the surf beach at Ocean Grove. It is about 10 minutes from where we live.

Ellison wants to know if Australians speak with an accent.
We think you speak with an accent but we don’t :-)

Hana asks "What type of animals are in Australia?"
Riley says possums, kangaroos, emus, koalas and echidnas.

Royce is curious about what type of gems are in Australia.
We are not sure! Miss McGeady thinks there are opals mined in Australia.
