We were aboard the ferry getting ready to jump at Alcatraz Island, when the San Francisco Port Authority canceled the race due to the fog. They were concerned that they would not be able to see all the swimmers and provide help if needed. There was an alternative swim, but it wasn't nearly as exciting but the water was freezing :)
