  1. Dear Mrs. Levy and Class,
I really enjoyed reading what many students in your class enjoyed doing this week. It sounds like a lot of learning and fun happens during PDR. This must be a favorite time for many students. I like that each student can choose an activity to participate in that interests them.

My favorite activity this week was building a sand castle at the beach in Santa Monica with my grandson, Collin, and granddaughter, Kendall. We even included a bridge and a moat around the castle!

Have any of you ever built a sand castle or anything else out of sand?

I will be looking forward to reading more of your impressive sentences next week.

    Sincerely,
    Marsha Cooke (Collin's grandmother)

  2. Dear Mrs. Cooke,

Thank you for the thoughtful comment. Luke said that he and his friends built a whole castle with a shield around it and tunnels out of sand. Ethan said that he built a giant castle with his brother, Amiti. Jakob built army men fighting out of sand. Rain said she built tunnels. Lastly, Kiernan built a castle with a bridge and tunnels.
