Music with Mr. B

On Friday we had music with Mr. B.  We practiced the song"You're a Grand Old Flag."

Do you know the lyrics to You're a Grand Old Flag?
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.

Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
The Grand Old Flag of the United States of America

  1. Dear Mrs. Levy,

Thanks for the pictures and lyrics! I love singing, especially patriotic songs!

This summer, on the Fourth of July, we retired several old flags during our flag retirement ceremony. One part of the ceremony involved singing. If you visit this link you can hear my mother, Mrs. Pfau playing "You’re a Grand Old Flag"! Maybe your students can sing along!

    Thanks for another great post!

    Your blogging buddy upstairs,
    Mrs. Y♥llis

  2. Dear Mrs. Levy,

I really enjoyed your post from Mr. B's music class on Friday. I'm glad your class is learning such a terrific song.

Thank you for posting the words. I realized I was singing a few of them incorrectly:) Now I know them all.

    Sincerely,
    Shannon

Here are some questions for you.

Have your students memorized the song?
How many students are in your class?
Have you ever gone on a field trip?

    Sincerely,
    Jaden and Tucker
