Poem of the Week

Our second poem of the week went home yesterday.  Remember to keep collecting those poems until the end of the school year.

Cats
Cats are furry, cats are small,
Cats are hardly big at all.
Cats can purr and cats can mew.
Do you like cats?
I sure do!

  1. Dear Mrs. Levy,

What a great reading of the cat poem!

    I thought it was puuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrfect!

I used to have a white cat named Sam and he was big and fluffy. He would curl up and purr when I scratched his chin.

Does anyone in your class have a cat?

  2. Thank you for the comment Mrs. Yollis!

I used to have two cats: Tiger and Mrs. Lewis. Tiger was a huge tabby cat and Mrs. Lewis was a stray cat named after my neighbor who rescued her. Unfortunately Mr. Levy is allergic to cats, so our pets now are two fish, a tarantula and my lazy bulldog who stays outside.

Do you still have your hummingbird family?

    Your pal,
    Mrs. Levy

  3. Thanks so much for this fun blog. I get a better sense of how Rain spends her day. Rain - why don't you tell the class about Tulip? Eilat

  6. Dear Mrs. Levy and class,

Collin's grandfather and I really enjoyed watching the video of your class reading the poem about cats. What a nice job you all did! We have two cats at home. The oldest cat, Poppy, belonged to our neighbor who moved to another house and had to leave his cat behind. We adopted her and have had her for seven years now. Our second cat, Rosy, first belonged to my sister. She didn't have enough time to share with her cat, so we adopted her, too! The two cats are very happy and curl up together in their cat bed.

Have any of you ever adopted cat?

We are so glad you share your school week with us. We look forward to reading about your school adventures!

    Sincerely,
    Marsha Cooke

Thank you for the thoughtful comment! Rosy and Poppy sound like lucky cats to be adopted by your family :-)
We are going to have a great year in Room 125. We will keep you up to date on our latest news.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Levy
